Downtown’s Best Spots to Chow-Down

By Sabrina Kenoun and Arianna Reyna

Seeing as Arizona State University’s Downtown campus is at the heart of the Phoenix metropolitan area, it’s no surprise that resturants in the vicinity are often flooded with students. For those new in town, it can be difficult to find anything beyond your typical run-of-the-mill dining options. Today, we asked students residing on campus where the best spots to chow-down are.

“Definitely Majerle’s Sports Grill On Washington/3rd,” junior Sabrina Kenoun said. “It’s a great place for a burger, especially before a sporting event.”

If your more in the mood to study and sip some coffee, however looking for a good cup of joe close to campus would be preferable.

“Go to the Grand,” student Alejandro De La Creda said. “It’s a little café open 24 hours, and a nice place to go with your friends and study”

Directly on campus there are a few healthy options. One, called Bowl of Greens, is directly attached to the Cronkite school and frequented by many students in between classes and before and after hours. “It’s a great place to get a smoothie or a salad,” Arianna Reyna said. “I come here all the time.”

Healthy options, tasty burger and cozy study spots all seem well and good, but sometimes something a little more affordable and closer to comfort food may be needed. For this, Drake Presto recommends Taco Bell. “It’s my favorite place,” Presto said.
